End of 2017

A few snapshots to round out the year.

Whenever we go to New Mexico we take a morning and go out for coffee in Mesilla and check out the little shops on the square.

Driving home.  It was a long day in the car.  We were all DONE by the end.

New Years later afternoon.  Izzy spent the night with us and we all went to a pajama party! Cheers to 2018.

Carlsbad Caverns - another wonder

I hadn't been here in about 20 years.  IMPRESSIVE as EVER.  Totally worth the walk down if you can do it...and we did it and loved it.  It is impossible to describe the scale of this cavern / cave system.  It goes on for miles.  Next time I am determined to come in the summer for the nightly bat departure.

Testing their caving skills.

Cave entrance.

The Lodge @ Cloudcroft + Sunspot

After White Sands we drove over to Cloudcroft for lunch at The Lodge.  The girls were fascinated by the story of "Rebecca" who is said to haunt the lodge.

We climbed the tower and enjoyed the views!
After lunch we took a little detour to Sunspot (a solar observatory) before heading to Artesia for the night.

White Sands - 2017

I'm certain I have stated this before but this is one of my most favorite places on earth.  White Sands National Monument located in the middle of nowhere New Mexico.  Worth every second of your time.  Tranquil and gorgeous.....and oh so much fun to play in!
