the Valentine's Parties

This was Avery's first year in school and she was very excited for the Valentine's Day party! She got up, got dressed and wanted her hair done (which is increasingly rare). She looked so sweet and happy! Alexandra jumped in for a picture too. I think their favorite 'valentine' is each other....I love that. Happy Valentine's Day my darling, sweet, precious girls. Ahhhh, love.

P.S. Both girls wrote out all of their Valentine's on their own. Alexandra knocked hers out in about a half an hour and was very pleased that she wrote down each of her classmate's names. Avery had twice as many to do but she stuck with it and wrote her name on each one. The letters were not always in the correct order but all of the letters were there and she was proud of herself.

The Make-Up Studio

A few weeks ago I found this rather large TinkerBell Tent on clearance at Target :)
On this particular day in early February the girls moved all of their make-up inside which basically includes an assortment of flavored chapsticks and two eye shadow compacts. They spent quite a bit of time in front of Alexandra's light up mirror applying and re-applying and saying things like "Alexandra is this very styling" and "Avery you have to do it this way for fashion style". I got a few peeks in the tent but mostly the little curtain over the door was closed as apparently it was an invitation only event.

Super Bowl Sunday

The Green Bay Packers were in the Super Bowl this year.....we don't live in Wisconsin but I am from Wisconsin so we tried our best to have a green/gold celebration! Our good friends, the Molloys, invited us over for the game and it was a good time and a fun victory! To prepare we decided to decorate some green/yellow sugar cookies and seeing as we didn't own a stitch of Packer-wear we decided to create a couple of necklaces using shrinky-dinks. It was a fun project and a fun day!

Avery goes to a Party

This was the VERY first birthday party Avery attended on her own. I'll admit, I had a bit of a time leaving her but I know she was in good hands and had a FANTASTIC time. At the party the girls all got to dress up in princess attire. They also had their hair and nails done and did a bit of dancing. She was so excited and talked about it for days afterwards. I just love the first picture below - the little girls are all waiting patiently for cake and something about Avery's face just makes me smile. The second picture is what I got when I asked for a "princess pose".

Bobcat Award

Each year at Alexandra's school the students have an opportunity to receive a Bobcat Award. There are different goals for each grade. Alexandra achieved her goals during the first award ceremony (I believe there are three throughout the year). She was so excited and proud....and so were we! Way to go SWEET GIRL! Love you!
