We left Engelberg on July 2nd after purchasing super cute swiss hats and headed back to Paris. It was another long long day in the car but we surprised the girls with a trip to Parc Asterix - which is an amusement park based a French comic book series. I honestly SET the camera down for the entire two days that we were at the park so we could just play and enjoy our time together. It was really fun - except for the part when Alexandra and Matt went on the Le Tonner de Zeus (a rickety old wooden framed roller coaster). Our friends, the Ginards, met us one of the days (another surprise for the girls) and we had fun going on rides, seeing shows and hanging out together. It was a GREAT way to wrap up our adventures!

France/Switzerland - July 1, 2016
Today was an exciting day. We got going and the whole family headed to Luzern. The girls and I took the train and Matt and I showed them the city that we were married in. Avery also dipped her toes in Lake Luzern - her namesake. Later that afternoon we drove over to Rita & Phillipe Bucher's house - this was a TREAT! They had agreed - 15 years earlier - to be the witnesses at our wedding and now, 15 years later, we contacted them and they graciously invited us over for the day. It was so fun to get to actually visit with and know the people who showed us so much kindness so long ago. They were gracious hosts and, to boot, had a pool so the girls swam for 5 hours straight!

France/Switzerland - June 30, 2016
Today was a much needed quiet day. The girls and daddy went to the pool and I took the train into Luzern. I did a mini-tour of many of the places we visited on our wedding day.
The boat dock - where we rented a boat for a tour after our wedding.
The Old Swiss House - where we had dinner on our wedding evening.
The Lion Monument - this has absolutely nothing to do with our wedding but I had never seen it so wandered over - it is impressive.
The Court House - where we were married. (above and below)
The Chapel Bridges along Lake Luzern
The flower shop in the train station where I purchased my wedding flowers.
Then back to Engelberg where the girls were enjoying some well deserved TV and "doing nothing" time.

Our last morning in Lauterbrunnen. We found our way to Trummelbache Falls and CANNOT believe that we have never stopped here on our prior two visits. It was so powerful. It is a waterfall that is carved inside them mountain....the pictures will do this no justice.
The elevator up to the top of the falls.
After the falls we drove to Engelberg, Switzerland - our home for the next few nights. We actually stayed at a hotel this time with a pool, breakfast and all the amenities. It was a nice change from apartment life.
And the views weren't so bad either.
Avery - checking for rain.

Another day - another mountain to conquer.
Today we drove over to Grindelwald, took the cable car up to First, hiked along the suspension bridges, ate lunch with amazing views, then back to Bort where we picked up our scooter bikes for the ride down to the valley. THIS was fun and such a beautiful day to be outside. We really have had excellent weather!
Another fun park find.
Scootering down....
....to the ice cream shop!
