Luna Lobos Dog Sledding Adventure

For the past two years we have gone on a sleigh ride at Christmas time - this year we wanted to try something different so we opted for a dog sled ride.  We had originally planned this event for December but there was little to no snow so it got pushed out to January.  The day we went, the parking lot was crazy muddy but the trail was snowy and beautiful.  It was "interesting" I guess.  All four of us crammed into a sled, basically one on top of the other, and went off on a bumpy ride.  As the sun set it was COLD - like freezing, crazy bone-chilling cold!  We all had little hand warmers and blankets on but still....cold.  The dogs were fun to watch and definitely followed the "leader".  Our driver was nice and informative and we had fun but I don't know if it is something I care to repeat!  An experience for certain!

The girls also had a blast skiing with their new friends - Lily and Nina Ginard.  Lots of runs down the mountain.

Surprise - we are coming next week!

My parents had some airline tickets they needed to use.  They thought they had a few months to use them but realized one day in early January that they had to use them by the following week!  So we received a call one day and they said "what are you guys doing next week"?  YEAH for us!  They visited for a few days in January and we had a nice, easy time.  The girls loved having them here as they were able to do some baking with grandma and we also spent a lovely January day at the zoo.  See you again this summer!!  Love you both!

We had never seen the lions this active - pacing, prowling and growling.  Of course the highlight was when one of them pee's on the window.  :)

Ski Days

We did a lot of skiing after 3 up at Alta this year.  After 3 is when the price drops drastically (like $5) and we can get a few family runs in.  The girls were so FAST!  They have done this run so many times and feel crazy confident on it - so confident that I am always left in the dust.  I used to tell myself that I skied behind everyone in case someone got lost or needed help, etc BUT now I have to admit that I ski behind everyone because I simply cannot keep up anymore.

New Year's - LIGHT IT UP!!

We were lucky to ring in another New Years with our friends the Molloys!  Lots of eating, a bit of drinking and lights, lights lights!  We sent paper lanterns into the sky to remember people we loved and lost in 2014.  We lit a sparkly candle on the always delicious Nothing Bundt Cake.  And we watched the big lighted ball drop on Times Square.  Late night, Cards Against Humanity insanity, good wishes and happy people.  Love.
