and so the BIRTHDAY begins!
The night before her 9th birthday we had a little cake and ice cream dinner party at grandma and papas. Per usual, they get gifts for both of the girls so it's double exciting!
Definitely one of her favorite gifts....a Darth Vadar shirt from A. Karina and Dave! SWEET!
Our own Pop-up
We've been talking about it for a couple of years...and we finally did it. We bought our own pop-up camper! Super fun times! We went on our first trip up to Redwood and spent a few nights camping together. The weather was beautiful, the surroundings serene and our new camper super comfy!
We also caught a leg of the Tour of Utah bike race!

Kids found this tree stump - and hacked away for hours.

Neighbor Girl Sleepover
We have been reluctant to start the whole sleepover things...but all summer the girls have begged. They had their first sleepover ever at our neighbor Isabel's house so wanted to return the favor at our house. Four girls, ice cream, pillow fights, monster highs, and a movie. I was so tired!

Last Day....then just a lot of road between here and home.
I got up early to try to catch the sunrise. It was so peaceful and beautiful.
This little bugger scared me. At first, I saw him off in the distance so wasn't to concerned but after a few minutes I felt like something was watching me. I turned around quickly and he was right behind me, crouched down....almost like he was going to attack but perhaps not. As soon as I turned he stood up ever so casually and just sauntered off down the path.
The trees were glowing as the sun came up.
Avery found this huge bug hanging out on the window.

The girls also spotted my little animal friend. They were super excited so we went on a walk to try to follow him. No luck so we headed back to the lodge to head out.
