First shot on my tripod.
Here is my little sweetie - sleeping. I took this photo in a dark room and thanks to the tripod I was able to have the shutter open long enough to make it work. Thanks to Matt M. for the tripod - I appreciate it GREATLY!
Gymnastics
Alexandra started gymnastics up at the University of Utah. She LOVES it! She is really learning a lot and seems to take direction really well. We have been impressed with all of her tumbling and are just excited that she is so excited!

Daddy's Birthday
Our daddy turned 40 this year and he celebrated months earlier with a trip to Laguna Seca with family and friends. His actual birthday was somewhat low-key but hopefully happy. The girls spent the night before decorating the motorcycle trailer. They filled it with streamers and the words Happy Birthday written in blue painters tape. The finishing touch was taping a bunch of straws to the inside of the door as you will see below. Happy Happy Birthday Daddy - we love you mucho mucho!
Evening Reading
Just a sweet picture of the ladies and I sprawled out on the floor reading books one evening. The Bernstein Bears were the favorite this summer/fall and I think, by now, we must own each and every one!
Cemetary Park
Okay, now I am starting September....
Matt discovered this cool little place to play behind a local cemetary. There is a beautiful pond and tons of sweet statues...plus gorgeous sunlight. I took the opportunity to experiment with my camera a bit. Here are the results.

Camping...one more time.
This is the last posting for August so I can close out that month and hopefully get September done before October is over!
I also have a new software called Lightroom. It helps edit photos for color, contrast and a whole bunch of other stuff that I have no idea about. So, I was playing around with it tonight a ton and therefore some of these photos might look a bit overdone....but hopefully I will improve with practice.
Okay, to the photos.
We went camping the last weekend of August up at Redman Campground. Just a family night in the woods. Our friends, the Shinalls, joined us for dinner and the kids had a great time playing and, as you'll see, getting dirty.
First couple are of a vibrant berry bush that I loved.
We did a bit of a hike too. We were trying to make it to Lake Solitude but after 30 minutes of walking (and whining) we learned that we were only 1/3 of the way there and decided to just head for home and a nap in our very comfy beds. More camping next year for the Stolberg family!

The next morning it was COLD! The girls were all bundled up around the campfire and we had fun hanging out and eating together in our campchairs with blankets piled upon us. We had a great breakfast and the girls loved the mostly-cooked cinnamon rolls....or maybe they just liked the frosting.
This black and white is 100% AVERY. She is always toting around "big blankie" and loves to hold it close to her mouth and just have it there.

Back in August...
Yes, it's October and I am still blogging back in August. My new camera has kind of thrown me for a loop and I am unorganized and spending more time trying to learn to take a good picture and screwing up a ton in the process.
Anyway, here is a fun day we spent back on August 21, 2009.
I love the first photo of Avery. Wildly out of focus but I like it anyway.
Here Avery wanted to be a baby so she had to walk around with her doll's binky.
Alexandra giving poor baby doll Sophie a bath - I think she needs a scuba mask.
Then later that night we played a bit of baseball and I worked on taking action shots. You'll see I am no expert but it was fun to try.
Then we ended the night be rolling in the grass and giggling - can't think of a better way to spend my time.
