Mother's Day

Ahh....a day all about ME!!  How lovely!  Started off with the sweetest pictures and cards followed by breakfast in bed.  Matt's family came over later and we enjoyed a delicious brunch outside - the weather was perfect.  The girls and I snuggled on the hammock and read books for awhile.  Later in the day we went to the Salt Lake Bees Game and enjoyed a night of the most remarkable weather.  Just hanging out together...ahh, I'm a lucky mommy.

Alexandra goofing with cousin Andre.

So sweet - Alexandra helping Avery tie her shoes.

L'Eiffel

Alexandra is busy learning French in school so as a fun project we decided to paint the Eiffel Tower together.  I found a cool design, carbon copied it to a canvas and away we went.  It was fun and turned out super cute...she is very proud of her artwork!

Finger Print Tree

Saw this on Pinterest....fill a little tree with your fingerprints.  Keepsake for mommy.

Dry Ice Scientists

Daddy did some reading about dry ice and different things you could do with it.  I have no idea how he did this first experiment but basically he added something to the dry ice so that whenever you popped a bubble smoke came out.  Then, that evening, he put a bowl of dry ice in their room thinking it would be a neat way to for the girls to fall asleep - the cloudy matter cascading around them - but WHO CAN SLEEP when you have something this fun and interesting right by your bed!

Auntie Julie

Auntie Julie came to see us for a weekend!  The girls made this lovely sign and we waited...and waited...and waited at the airport...and then, suddenly, she was here!  We had a lot of fun with her all weekend and every night the girls wanted her to read them stories.  Miss you, love you.

Back to gymnastics....

It's been awhile since the girls hit the gym.  Alexandra wasn't interested in doing too much in the way of sports there for awhile but then, suddenly, she wanted to go back to gymnastics.  So we signed up for a short session and away they went.  They really did have fun and they were both always really enthusiastic about going.  These pictures certainly are not the best...but they were there and they had fun!

Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles

During a recent trip to Michael's craft store I told Avery she could pick out something new to play with.  She choose this bubble wand and spent hours and hours twirling and creating bubbles.  It was way fun to watch her spin in her cute, summery dress!

Avery's 2012 Dance Recital

This is very out of order but I wanted to share Avery's dance recital. She is one of the older girls in the class and LOVED to perform. The dance is a bit of a hodge-podge...everyone tried their best! We were so PROUD of Avery! She is front and center at the beginning and is all smiles! ENJOY!

Love

I adore catching moments like these.  Just one random day, after school, watching TV together.
Sweet happiness.

Little Saturday Fun

Early morning fun.  Alexandra got out the "boop-boop" men.  This is an old-timey toy that daddy brought home from his grandma's house up in northern Minnesota.  Wooden men that can be stacked in a variety of ways.  Once upon a time, Uncle Jason visited and played with these little men with Alexandra for hours.  Whenever they fell over he would say "boop boop" and she would giggle and laugh (she was just 2 at the time).  Anyway, ever since, we call them the boop boop men.  They always make us think of and remember Great Grandma Wallenius with a smile.

Later that same Saturday Avery busted out her bike for a ride on the patio - decked out in a full length dress and fancy shoes.  Prettiest darn bike rider I know!

My Monkeys for the Day

I had the good fortune to chaperone the 1st grade field trip to the zoo.  I had a fun bunch and they were so good interacting with each other and mimicking the animals too!  It was a HOT day but everyone was in good spirits!

Animal imitations....the elephant.

The giraffe.

The crocodile.

As big as a gorilla!

First Water Day of the Season

Early morning trip to Home Depot followed by the promise of a new slip n' slide...provided hours of sweet early summer (well, late spring) fun.  Later in the day we invited two little friends over for a quick playdate outside.  They built this sweet fort under the hammock!
