A nice Sunday evening.

We had a quiet Sunday evening....it started out with ice cream treats on the deck with funny ice cream faces....
...then Avery spent about an hour sitting in her little splash pool playing and looking all cute...

...then Alexandra and daddy played a silly game they made up called "sack of potatoes".

It was a beautiful night.

the NEW slip n' slide

Our friends (the Shinalls) came over for dinner and brought a slip n' slide. The girls LOVED it! Some of their expressions are absolutely priceless! They played on, in, around and through this thing for a few hours....highly recommended for an afternoon of fun!

Avery wasn't into the slip n' slide today so she just protected her Nemo sprinkler and had fun watching.

Alexandra and her baby Sophie

While out for a walk, Alexandra decided that her baby Sophie was crying so much because she was hungry. So, she did what any good mother would do...she stopped, sat down on the pavement and fed her baby.

Daddy and Avery were with us too!

Easter bonnet wearing cheerleaders....

I love the title. Awhile ago I found these cheerleader costumes for 97 cents at Sears, complete with pom-poms. I thought the ladies would use them to play dress-up. They never have....until tonight. All of a sudden Alexandra walked out of her bedroom with her cheerleader outfit on and her Easter bonnet. She insisted Avery get dressed up too so they could be "fancy dancers". They even had to wear special shoes and they had to be pink. The costumes were completely ill-fitting but it was hilarious!
I posted a video over on the right of this screen - be sure to click on the watch "high quality" in youtube.

Mommy's Shoes

Avery got a big kick out of walking around in my sandals...just look at that expression on her face.

the ZOO

The ladies at the entrace of the zoo.

Avery, Alexandra and our friend Hannah - all leaning in for a closer look at the turkeys.

Avery's sweet face.

The highlight of the zoo....ants. The girls enjoyed watching them and yes, stepping on them.

Avery spies an elephant.

Alexandra talking with a giraffe.

Sweet Avery

I liked the light in her eyes on this one....

Alexandra's Favorite Outfit

Two of Alexandra's favorite things: her Lightning McQueen T-shirt and her giraffe boots!

Backyard Fun

On Saturday we got the kiddie pool out and played out back all afternoon. Avery LOVED it in the water and sat there for over and hour and a half splashing and trying to blow bubbles. Alexandra said she was cold in the pool so got out, got naked and relaxed in the sunshine reading her books.
