So….remember all of that rain I've been complaining about. Like every single day we were in Wisconsin. Well, it made this huge puddle. HUGE. Kids were thrilled to run and play and eventually slip, slide and lay in it. What a mess - but so many smiles, so much laughter. My sister and I got in the spirit and grabbed some old webbed lawn chairs, a can of beer and sat along the side of the road to watch. It felt like there should be some fiddle or banjo music playing in the background :) But good stuff, the stuff of summer.
Love her flowing hair!
Pretty in a puddle
These two don't mess around when it comes to water. They LOVE it - they are all about sitting, laying and completely saturating themselves over and over and over again!
A race across the street to see who could lay down in the puddle first.
My girls had their fill at this point so got cleaned up and hugged…for no reason…just hugging.
Cait and her mommy.
This is what a typical Wisconsin evening looks like. This is what makes me happy too. To sit in my parents driveway, to have a beer or glass of champagne or whatever and and watch the kids play. This was our last night. The sun shone, finally, the kids played. It was happy. It was right.
Avery loved the bubbles!
Bubble head?
And this…this here is the tree. The tree that kids climb constantly. The little car is always under the tree as a starting point. A place to climb up and then they climb, play games, something about lava on the ground, or sea monster or something. But they play and play and play and play. Love it.
